The Bella Vista residence comprises two buildings characterized by playful, non-uniform balconies and terraces of various sizes and locations.
The architects Jan and Jakub Klaška from the SYNC Architecture studio based the design on both Czech and African elements, which is shown by their work with windows and the shaping of the balconies, a reference to the tradition of working with ornament in traditional African cultures.
The second source of inspiration is functionalist villas, which have a significant place in the Czech history of architecture. Here, functionalism is inspiration primarily in the clean shapes and smooth façade that so excellently supplement the African elements and contrast with them. This unusual combination makes the Residence Bella Vista a place with a unique atmosphere that stands out, but also fits in with the surrounding environment.
Gardens Inspired by the Savanna
Generous front gardens, terraces and balconies are supplemented by a community garden with islands of vegetation reminiscent of the African savanna, to an ingenious design by the K2N Landscape studio.
African motifs are reflected in the whole concept for the Residence Bella Vista garden. The various zones have different functions, but they communicate with each other and create a whole.
Interiors á la FormaFatal
The interiors of the Residence Bella Vista are functional and simple, but rich in fine detail. The Formafatal studio handled the concept for the interior design; it has won a number of prestigious awards, such as Interior Designer of the Year 2020 and the international Dezeen Awards 2020, as well as the Architizer Awards 2020.
The residence’s interior space corresponds to its external form and underlines the beauty of the pure architecture in an exceptional place. The zen simplicity of the materials, the warm tones of the wooden floor and the stern doors—all this creates clean, elegant space.
In the bathrooms, harmonized in earthy, cream shades, you can easily start your day and enjoy deserved relaxation in the evening. The interior, which is generally designed in light, natural colors, can be livened up with a dark accent.
